In this work I start from the violence embedded in the phrase “to shoot.” I take a new camera, dismantle it into its smallest parts, and examine each fragment like forensic evidence. I turn every component into a photogram, scan it, and translate the file into binary code—the image’s DNA. By pairing camera-less photographs with a photograph-less camera, I try to expose the device’s inner logic and the conditions of looking.
