Inon Khalfon 

“Toys for My Future Son” presents hybrid objects—part weapon, part tool—built and dedicated to my future child. Made shortly before my son was born, the objects appear ancient or post-apocalyptic, reflecting on intergenerational trauma, the bond between body and tool, and the tool as an extension of the self. Shown through photographs as an installation view. Exhibited at the Bezalel MFA and Dana Gallery. Across a timeline that stretches between future and past, the series Toys for My Future Son examines cultural and social relationships. From the moment humans first lifted a tool, we separated ourselves from other animals and created an extension of the body.
The objects photographed here invite us to reconsider what we inherit, what we leave behind, who we are, and what we may still become.
